    Back in 1996 Square just started to cooperate exclusively with Sony. As a part of the deal Sony promised to publish the first six games in the U.S. With a new Square marketing office in the west, the two companies worked together in order to achieve maximum success for both the PlayStation brand and Final Fantasy 7.
