The experience will take place in the world of the upcoming Alien: Covenant movie.
Ridley Scott’s RSA Films has launched a new virtual reality studio which goes by the name of RSA VR. The new office will focus on creating VR, AR and mixed reality experiences.
RSA VR’s first project will be an experience set in the Alien universe. Both Twentieth Century Fox’s FoxNet and Technicolor’s MPC will support the title’s development. Scott himself will serve as executive producer.
So far, little the studio hasn’t revealed many informations about the title. However, it will take place in the world of the upcoming Alien: Covenant movie, the follow up to 2012’s Prometheus. You can find the movie trailer below.
Jen Dennis, co-executive producer of The Martian VR Experience will lead the studio.
“I think VR is one of the most exciting areas in the industry today, with potential to influence how we consume content for generations to come,” Dennis said in a statement.
“I enjoy everything from assembling teams and forging partnerships to create, distribute and market VR content, to having an ongoing informative – and often inspirational dialogue – with colleagues in the space. I consider us in a unique position to undertake this with RSA’s talented roster of directors.”
